Club History

The Washtenaw Rugby Football Club has roots to many local teams. In the Fall of 2026 we decided to merge the Ypsilanti and Michigan (Ann Arbor) D3 men's clubs into one team under the name of the Washtenaw Rugby Football Club. The Washtenaw high school and youth rugby teams will also now be part of the greater Washtenaw Rugby family. The new crest combines elements of all the former clubs.

A brief history....

Both the Ypsilanti and Michigan men's teams were spawns of the local college teams of Eastern Michigan and the University of Michigan. The Washtenaw high school boys teams was one of the original teams in the state when high school rugby began in 2000.
